Acupuncture and Chinese medicine are remarkably broad in scope, treating the whole person rather than isolated symptoms. The World Health Organization recognizes acupuncture as effective for over 100 conditions. Commonly treated conditions include:
Chronic and acute pain
Headaches and migraines
Digestive issues
Stress and anxiety
Insomnia
Hormonal imbalances
Fertility support
Menstrual irregularities
Fatigue and immune support
If you're unsure whether your concern is something we can help with, we welcome you to reach out.
In addition to acupuncture, we offer a full range of adjunct techniques including cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, and herbal medicine — often incorporated into treatment based on your individual needs to deepen the therapeutic effect and support your body's healing process.

Most people are pleasantly surprised by how comfortable acupuncture feels. The needles used are hair-thin, and nothing like a hypodermic needle — insertion is typically painless.
You may notice a mild sensation of warmth, tingling, or a gentle heaviness at the needle site. This is known as "de qi" and is considered a positive sign that the point has been activated. Many patients find themselves deeply relaxed or even drifting off to sleep during treatment.

Your initial visit is longer than follow-up appointments — typically 75 to 90 minutes. We begin with a thorough intake conversation covering your health history, current concerns, lifestyle, and wellness goals. This is time we take seriously; understanding the whole person is central to Chinese medicine.
Your first treatment will follow the intake. You'll rest comfortably on a treatment table while the needles do their work, usually for 20–30 minutes. Most patients leave feeling calm, grounded, and lighter.

Loose, comfortable clothing is ideal. Acupuncture points are located throughout the body, and your practitioner will often need access to your lower legs, forearms, and abdomen. Wearing clothing that can be easily rolled up — such as loose pants and a comfortable top — makes the process smoother.
Please avoid tight jeans, restrictive waistbands, or anything that would be uncomfortable to lie in for 30 minutes. We have draping available for your comfort and privacy at all times.

The number of treatments needed varies depending on the nature and duration of your condition, your overall health, and how your body responds to treatment. Some acute issues benefit from two treatments per week and may resolve within 5 to 6 sessions, while chronic or long-standing conditions typically require a longer, more sustained course of care.
Following your initial visit, we'll work together to outline a treatment plan that feels right for your situation. We recommend that patients come in at least once a month to maintain progress and support their overall health. We'll reassess as we go and adjust your plan as your needs evolve.

We do not accept insurance directly. Coverage for acupuncture varies widely by plan and provider — some insurance companies cover it, others do not. We recommend contacting your insurance company directly to ask about your acupuncture benefits before your first visit. Superbills are available upon request, which you can submit to your insurer for potential reimbursement.
